Local cat Adam Gillian, a 5-year-old, neutered, Siamese Mix, is devastated today after learning his favorite scent of Axe deodorant is set to be discontinued.
The deodorant being discontinued is an Axe brand scent, called “Touch.” Adam described the product to the Gazette in tears, saying it gave him confidence and made him feel ‘like a real man.’
Adam said he got an ‘inkling’ it was being discontinued after going to three different stores looking for it. “I went to Rite-Aid, Walgreen’s, and Fred Meyer, and none of the places had it on the shelf,” he said.
Axe's once very popular "Touch" scent, now to be discontinued
Solemnly, Adam returned home to confirm the tragic news by looking up the product on the company’s website.
Friends and indeed, the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic discontinuation of the favored product. They released a statement saying they are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.
“How can you discontinue something called ‘Touch?’” Adam cried. “I'm at such a loss...I'm devastated, there is just one last container of it in my bathroom.”

Brother Puff admitted Adam “…smalls bad sometimes,”
Consumed by his sadness, insiders say Adam has ‘holed himself up’ in the bathroom, crying, and clutching at the last tube of deodorant.
“He smells really bad sometimes,” brother Puff, a 4-year-old, neutered, Siamese Mix said. “That stuff covered it up really good. It’s too bad, really. What are we gonna use now?”
“I will reluctantly try Axe ‘Essence,’” Adam said. “But I’m afraid I’m already half the man I used to be.“ Adam said in confidence that he will remain haunted by this event for the rest of his life

Insiders told Adam ‘…don’t sweat it, man,”
In a statement on their website, Axe executives said: "We regret that we can no longer continue to produce this particular scent any longer. We realize that scented deodorants are a staple in this industry, and we have every intention of working out a new scent but it may take some time.”
“I tried to tell him, ‘…don’t sweat it, man, they'll probably bring the stuff back on the market,’” said a family insider. “But he wouldn’t listen.”
